Good Morning Guardian Nation
I hope this email finds you well on a cold Friday morning. I am not sure if there was anyone more surprised than me to see the snow on the ground this morning! It is too soon! But we will overcome. A couple of end of October updates for you…
- I would like to start with a HUGE THANK YOU to our entire Holy Family School Community. This fall has been a challenge, but we have come through it with flying colours! We have asked on more than one occasion for financial support for our events here at school (Terry Fox Run, Virtual School Food Drive, School Supply Drive and Dance A Thon) and I realize that this was a lot to come all at the beginning of the year. Somehow we found a way to support all of these initiatives in true Guardian fashion and I Thank You for your generous support. We truly showed our community that we are Called to Belong and exemplified the Umbrella Skill of Gratitude for all to see.
- Our Dance A Thon has been an outstanding success. To date, we have raised nearly $13000 that will go back into our school to enhance the educational experience of all of our students. The students had a phenomenal time on Wednesday dancing outside and really got into the spirit of the event! Our final total will be announced on Monday as it closes today at 3:30. All prizes will be announced and distributed early next week. Stay Tuned!
- Our School Supply Drive will end on Monday. We will have our final weigh in and share the awesome results with our community at the end of Monday. Thanks for your support.
- Lastly, now that we are into the near-winter weather, please make sure that your child(ren) come to school prepared to be outside. Snow pants, splash pants, mitts, hats, scarves, toques, winter boots and winter coats are a MUST this year. Due to the challenges that COVID presents, our recesses will be outside as much as possible due to the fact that the students need a mask break and that keeping them inside does not allow for this. Thank You for your support and cooperation in this regard. Primary students are encouraged to bring an extra pair of mitts/gloves as well as socks just to make sure that they are warm and dry when they go outside.
Thanks again for the awesome first 2 months of school and we look forward to the rest of the year!
